Operation Painter - profile developed

1 min read

Police continue to develop a profile of murder victim Susan Sutherland, with the assistance of her family and associates.

"She was a person who chose to frequent Manchester Street and who chose to use drugs," says Detective Senior Sergeant David Harvey. "But she was brought up within a caring and supportive family unit. What has happened to Susan cannot be condoned by our community.

We are seeking support from the community to identify the person who is responsible for her death," he says.

The investigation to date has identified that between 4-5am on the morning of Saturday 16 April, a male, race unknown but described as having dark complexion, a thick black moustache and dark hair, and driving a white Honda Prelude/ Accord/ Integra, mid 1980's, with a rear spoiler and a black strip down the side, was seen in the Manchester Street area.

"This person should come forward to identify themselves to Police," asks David Harvey. "People who know of someone who fits this description or the identity of the car, should also come forward, as he was one of many people who were identified as being in the area who we have been unable to discount from the inquiry."

The time that Susan's bag was found in the men's toilet in Addington Park has since been revised to Monday morning. It was handed in about 8.30pm on Tuesday night. Other items belonging to Susan have since been located in the area.
