1 min read

Two Akaroa hotels were hit by burglars this week who may be settling in for a weekend of rugby.

In early hours of Tuesday 22 June between 1am and and 8.30am, a stand alone chiller was broken into at The Grand Hotel and 64 cartons of RTDs (ready to drink) valued at approximately $3700 were taken.

Also taken was a single axle Raceway trailer E669Y (v $3500) and a blue plastic tarpaulin. The trailer was probably used to transport the cartons of drink.

The RTD's included Coruba Rum, Woodstock, Jim Beam and Cola, Jack Daniels, Wild Turkey, Gordons G&T, Kahlua and Milk, Smirnoff, Baileys, Vodka Twist and Mud Shakes.

A stand alone chiller was entered at the Madeira Hotel during the same period however only a quantity of meat was taken.

Akaroa Police are seeking any information about these burglaries.
