Police believe clothing may help identify offenders in aggravated robbery

1 min read

North Shore Police believe distinctive clothing may help identify three offenders in the aggravated robbery of the Gull Service Station in Albany.

Three males entered the service station on Sunday night at 11:28pm and demanded money and tobacco. One was carrying a pistol, one a metal rod and the other a knife.

Detectives say the carrying of such dangerous weapons can easily escalate into offending with serious consequences and so Police are appealing to anyone who may recognise the clothing to come forward with information on the identity of the offenders.

The clothing is distinctive as holes were cut in the hoodies which were worn backwards to create a very amateur disguise.

One hoodie worn backwards was the shortys brand, there was also a g-unit sweatshirt and a camouflage patterned von-dutch cap

The trio made the staff member lie on the ground as they took tobacco and left.

People may have seen the trio wearing the clothing in the area at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information can contact Detective Dodd or Detective Matheson at the Takapuna CIB on 488 6200.
