Distinctive car driven by wanted man

1 min read

The Operation Rendall homicide team broadened its search on Friday for 32 year-old Vitenamese national Minh Hong Nguyen.

Information was provided to Police that suggested he was in Hamilton on the night of June 19 - the night of Mr Vaghela's alleged murder - and that he was driving a very distinctive car.

Detective Inspector Bernie Hollewand says Mr Nguyen was driving a Subaru Impreza four door saloon that had a large red and green rose and stem painted on each side of the vehicle.

"Our information is that the rose started on the front doors of the car and the stem tapered off at the rear," he said.

"He was accompanied by a female Asian and it's understood they intended to travel to Rotorua on the evening of Monday, June 20.

"The car reportedly had a noisy exhaust system and the registration number was 7WRX7."

Mr Nguyen is 32 years old, 172 cm tall and is in breach of bail conditions for drugs related charges.

Anyone who knows where he is should contact Detective Sergeant Lloyd Schmid on 09 302 6548 or 027 474 6663.
