Post-mortem this morning for lake body

1 min read

Police have removed a man's body from the lake in Western Springs Park and it will undergo post-mortem examination this morning in an effort to determine how he died.

The body was discovered by a passerby at about 6.40 this morning and the Police Maritime Support Unit's rubber dinghy was used to remove it from the lake.

The park is closed to the public to enable Police to search the shores of the lake to try and find out where the man went into it.

Initial reports are that he was fully clothed and did not have any obvious signs of injury, however the post-mortem examination will help clarify that and other matters around his age and, hopefully, identity.
