Mercedes recovered

1 min read

The head of the inquiry into the death of a Christchurch man in the weekend thanks the many members of the public who have called with information about the movements of a silver Mercedes car.

Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Wormald says that there has been an excellent response in relation to the death of 43 year old Trevor Clague in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The Mercedes was recovered late Saturday and is being examined by a Police forensic team.

The car, a 300 series early 1990's model Mercedes, with lowered suspension and tinted windows, is coloured silver.

'We'd still like anyone who saw it round between 10pm Friday night and 3am Saturday morning to contact the team," says Grant Wormald.

The car did not belong to the 18 year old Christchurch man charged with Mr Clague's murder but an associate. The alleged offender was a passenger in the car.
