Serious incident in city

1 min read

A thirty year old male suffered a serious injury to his arm after he was stabbed during an incident in the City Mall in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Around 3.40am the male became involved in an altercation with another male during which he was stabbed in the arm. The men were not known to each other.

Detective Sergeant Mark Reid said there is concern that the man may have suffered possible nerve damage to his arm, after the brachial artery was severed.

He asks that anyone who saw the men at the west end of Cashel Mall, near Tiffany's restaurant, about that time, to please contact him at Christchurch Central Police station.
