Invercargill Police Question Two Men in Relation to Suspected P-Lab

1 min read

At 9am this morning Invercargill Police, including the AOS, executed a search warrant pursuant to the Misuse Use of Drugs Act at a motel in Tay Street, Invercargill.

As a result, police are speaking with two Christchurch men, aged 39 and 44.

Police are continuing to interview the men but it is likely that both will face charges related to the incident.

Items that could be used in the manufacture of methamphetamine were located at the motel unit.

Detective Senior Sgt Brian Cowie said specialist staff from the ESR Clan Lab team would be arriving tomorrow to conduct a thorough scene examination.

Police would not go into details for operational reasons, but information they received led to the search warrant being executed.

This is the first incident in Invercargill where police have located a suspected P Lab.
