Motorcyclist killed in road crash

A motorcyclist has died following a road crash in Linton this morning.

The crash happened around 9.45am at the intersection of Camp Road and Bells Road by the Linton Military Camp. The motorcycle was being ridden along Camp Road towards State Highway 57 and the car was turning right out of Bells Road on to Camp Road when the collision occurred.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 21-year-old, died at the scene. He was a member of Military personnel. The driver of the car, a 20-year-old woman was not hurt but suffering from shock and is being monitored at the Linton Military Camp Hospital. She is also a member of Military Personnel.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Police Serious Crash Investigation Unit.

The name of the rider is not being released until formal procedures have taken place.
