Cleaner Attacked and Robbed at Kelston Primary School in West Auckland

Henderson Police are tonight investigating an incident at the Kelston Primary School in West Auckland, where a male cleaner was attacked and robbed of his wallet.

Police say that about 6.56pm tonight Friday 21 July 2006, two male offenders entered a classroom at the school and immediately attacked the cleaner. They punched and kicked the victim with considerable severity.

The cleaner has been taken to hospital by ambulance. He has a broken nose.

The two offenders are described as Male Maori or Polynesian, aged 16-20 years.

Both are of medium build, one in dark clothing, the other with a light coloured sweatshirt.

Police are actively searching for the two offenders. Both the Eagle helicopter and police dogs have been involved in the search.

Police are requesting residents who live in the surrounding area near Kelston Primary School to contact them, if they have seen anyone acting suspiciously, prior to the time of the attack early this evening.

The amount of money taken from the wallet has not been disclosed.
