Shots Fired at House in Whenuapai

Henderson Police are investigating an incident in West Auckland, in which a shotgun has been fired several times at a residential address.

Police say that about noon today, a 23 year old female occupant was in a bedroom in the house in Brigham Creek Road, Whenuapai, when she heard a vehicle pull up at the property.

As the woman looked out of the window to see what all the commotion was about, she saw a male offender with a shotgun. He fired several shots directly at the house.

Then as she moved to close a nearby open door, another shot was fired, narrowly missing the terrified young woman.

The offender and his associates then left the scene at speed in a vehicle described as a Black Mitsubishi Diamante. Police are now searching for this vehicle. The Police helicopter Eagle, and dogs are also involved in the search.

Witnesses have told Police that there were three occupants in the car.

Police say that witnesses have indicated these three occupants appear to be Gang members. Remnants of a disused Clan Lab have also been found at the rear of the property.

Henderson CIB and CIU police officers are now at the scene talking to witnesses and carrying out an investigation into the shooting.
