Investigation continues into unexplained Wairarapa death

1 min read

Wairarapa detectives and forensic experts are continuing their scene examination at a Carterton house this morning following the presently unexplained death of a woman involving the use of a firearm late yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Borrell, acting Wellington District field crime manager, said police are still in the early stages of examining the scene at the King Street house, and talking with the 27-year-old woman's husband, family and friends. The woman's name has not yet been released.

"We're confident that a post mortem scheduled for later today or tomorrow at Wellington Hospital and results from our scene examination will give us a clearer picture of what has happened," he said.

The woman's husband called police about 4.20pm yesterday to alert them to the death.
