Henderson Police say a total of four persons have now been arrested and charged on firearms and other offences as a result of CIB investigations into a double shooting at an address in Glen Eden on Tuesday.
A 30 year old male has been arrested this morning and he will appear in the Waitakere District Court later today. The man is to be charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and four firearms related charges.
The man is a resident in Woodglen Road. He has been in Hospital where specialist surgery was carried out on his facial wounds. His right eye has been removed as a result of the shooting.
Police say two males aged 38 and 35 years respectively will be joining their associate when he appears in Court today. They face similar charges of wounding with intent and unlawful assembly. A 36 year old female will appear in Court on Monday charged with being an accessory after the fact.
Chief Investigator Detective Senior Sergeant John Sutton says these arrests are the result of some excellent work by all police officers who were involved.
"We needed to act quickly to prevent a real shootout happening on the street, so we're pleased that all the potential dangers to the public were fully contained."
"We've located the white falcon car, a .22 calibre rifle and ammunition, but a shotgun that is linked to the shootings has yet to be found. Our focus now is on finding this weapon," Mr Sutton said.
