Man behaving suspiciously

1 min read

An incident on Pt Chevalier Rd near Dignan St at about 5.30pm on Monday, February 14, has prompted Police to appeal for information about a large Polynesian man, thought to be in his mid-30s, who had short, curly hair except for a long plait running down the back of his head.

Detective Damian Espinosa of the Child Protection Team says the man was reportedly driving an old model black, four-door Toyota Corolla when he pulled alongside a teenaged girl walking on the footpath. His subsequent behaviour is of concern and Police want to identify and locate him.

No registration was obtained but the words "All Blacks" were in small print on the registration plate.

Anyone who has information should contact Detective Espinosa at the Auckland City Child Protection Team on 09 302 6400 or e-mail damian.espinosa@police.govt.nz

Anonymous callers can phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
