1 min read

Police are appealing for public assistance in finding the husband of a 42-year-old Otara woman who was found fatally stabbed in her bed yesterday morning.

The dead woman's name is Atonauga Seau. She was a mother to five children, three of whom were in the house when the stabbing occurred.

Police want to speak to the deceased's husband Keleti Seau in relation to the homicide investigation.

Mr Seau was last seen on Christmas night at the Fisher Crescent house he shared with his wife.

He is believed to be driving a 1995 White Toyota Rav 4 with the registration BJP235.

The officer in charge of the investigation, Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Middleton said police believed Mr Seau was still in the Otara area. "It is likely there are members of the Otara community who are offering support to this man, and we would like these people to come forward," he said.

Members of the public are asked to contact police in confidence on 09 259 0600 and ask for Richard Middleton if they have any information on the whereabouts of Mr Seau.
