Arrest follows Paeroa stabbing

Waikato Police have arrested a juvenile male in relation to the stabbing of a man in Paeroa last Friday.

Detective Glenn Ewing of the Waihi CIB said the 15-year-old was arrested on Friday afternoon and the weapon Police believe was used to stab the 25-year-old victim was recovered on the offender's person.

The teenager appeared in the Hamilton District Court on Saturday on a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and a charge of male assaults female and was remanded in custody to reappear today for a bail hearing.

Mr Ewing said Police would like to thank all the members of the public who assisted the enquiry team with information following the incident.
