Help sought to stop attacks on Mangawhai property

1 min read

Rodney Police are seeking help from the public to find out who is responsible for repeated graffiti attacks and an arson at a Mangawhai property.

Within the last two weeks vandals have scrawled anti gay and lesbian messages on the fence of a Mangawhai property owned by two local women.

Detective Sergeant Roger Small, head of Rodney CIB, said the messages and writing left on 21 and 24 July were very similar to a previous incident on 8 January. A packing shed on the property had also been destroyed by a suspicious fire in January.

“The ongoing personal nature of these attacks is a concern,” Detective Sergeant Small said. “Our inquiries are continuing, but we’re sure someone, possibly living in the local community, has information that will help us find who is responsible for the wilful damage and arson.

“If anyone can help with information, or who has seen people acting suspiciously in the area, please contact Rodney CIB on telephone 09 4279804.”
