With the third death on Waikato roads this week Police are urging motorists to take care on the Region's roads.
District Road Policing Manager, Inspector Leo Tooman, said a 49-year-old motorcyclist, critically injured in a collision with a car on SH1 Te Rapa on Monday, died of his injuries in Waikato Hospital yesterday.
"The formal identity process is still being completed so we are unable to release the man's name at this time," said Mr Tooman.
"Of concern for us is that this is the third death on Waikato roads this week from two crashes that occurred in what could be described as perfect driving conditions."
Mr Tooman said the crash was still under investigation so he was unable to comment on specifics of the case however with the Waikato's road toll now at 38 compared to 34 for the same period last year driver attention was crucial.
"We're all conscious of the large number of overseas visitors currently here to enjoy the world cup and there is a lot of emphasis on ensuring they keep left but both incidents this week involved local motorists and its important all drivers drive to survive."
