Victim in custody

1 min read

A Korean man who was at the centre of a kidnapping allegation yesterday was served with a removal order by the Immigration Service this afternoon.

He is now in Police custody at Auckland Central Police Station and will remain so until his scheduled appearance in the Auckland District Court on Monday, where he will be dealt with in relation to the removal warrant.

The man, a 37 year-old who was deported from New Zealand in April this year and who returned to Christchurch on June 5 using a false identity, has been speaking with Police today about the previous four or five days in Auckland.

The four men who were with him when he was found at the Rainbow Hotel in Nelson St yesterday afternoon, appeared in the Auckland District Court this afternoon where they were charged with common assault.

They were all bailed to an Auckland address and are scheduled to reappear in Court in the next week or so.
