Missing Newlands man is found

1 min read

Wellington Police are pleased a Newlands man is safe after spending a night in the open.

The frail 47-year-old Fijian Indian man went missing from his Newlands home yesterday afternoon. Concerns were held for the man's safety because of his poor health.

It seems the man wandered off a track into bush below Ladbrook Road and was unable to return home. He walked out this afternoon and was found on neighbouring street by family members looking for him.

He's been taken to Wellington Hospital for a precautionary medical check.

The man was reported missing late yesterday.

Police thank the public for their assistance.
