Levin homicide: statement from the Valentine family

1 min read

For us the past four days has been like living in a nightmare.

The loss of Michael has left a huge void in our lives and we are still coming to terms with his death.

Michael was the type of guy who could always make you smile when you were down, and he had your back no matter what. His loyalty and love for his family and friends was immense.

We love and miss him very much.

Thank you to everyone for your messages of strength, love, and support.

We are hugely appreciative of everyone who has helped our family over the past few days, including those who have provided information to Police.

As a family, we appreciate the media's support in helping us communicate our messages; however we require privacy at this stage so we can heal without undue attention.

ENDS

• The funeral will begin at 11am on Wednesday 6 February at the Levin Salvation Army.
• The family wish to thank the media for respecting their privacy and request they are not approached when arriving or leaving the funeral.
• Media are asked to remain outside the Church and are advised that the burial is private.
