Victim’s car missing

1 min read

The car belonging to the only surviving victim in Saturday’s triple homicide is missing.

Susan Couch, 38, is in a critical condition in Auckland Hospital after having neurological surgery on Saturday. She is a temporary employee at the Mt Wellington – Panmure RSA and is believed to have started work between 7 and 8am on Saturday.

Officer in charge of Operation RSA, Detective Inspector Gavin Jones, said Susan Couch drove to work from her Remuera home in her white Toyota Corolla FXGT.

"Her car should be near the RSA clubrooms but is nowhere to be found, so we can only assume it’s been stolen," he said.

"It’s a two-door hatchback with the registration number WX2285 and I believe most of them are imported from Japan.

"This car could contain vital clues for us and we’re appealing to the public to keep an eye out for it and let us know as soon as possible if they have seen it over the last day or so, or have found it."

The bodies of the three dead found at the Mt Wellington – Panmure RSA were removed from the scene on Saturday night and post-mortem examinations were conducted yesterday.

The dead, William ABSOLUM, 63, Mary HOBSON, 44, and Wayne JOHNSON, were found at the clubrooms by a member of the RSA who had gone there shortly before 9am for a meeting.

Police have set up an 0800 number for the public to call in with information that might help the triple homicide investigation. The number is 0800 PANMURE – or 0800 726 687.
