Name released in Christchurch train fatality

Christchurch police have released the name of the woman killed when she was struck by train early yesterday morning.

She was Sheena Louise Wright, aged 41, of Christchurch.

Ms Wright was struck by a train just north of the Hornby shopping complex at approximately 4.50am on Saturday [16 February].

Investigators are continuing enquiries into the circumstances of the fatality and have been speaking to friends and associates of the deceased.

Enquiries are focused on establishing the woman's movements in the hours leading up to the incident.

Police are still calling for information from members of the public who may have seen or heard anything, particularly between approximately 3.00 and 5.00am.
