Wellington Police is appealing for witnesses after a seriously injured cyclist was found lying on the side of Calabar Road, Miramar, last night.
The 47-year-old Seatoun woman is being treated in Wellington Hospital's intensive care unit for serious head injuries.
Constable Shaun Oliver, Wellington Police's Strategic Traffic Unit, says police do not know how the woman was injured, or whether a vehicle was involved.
The cyclist was found by a motorist who stopped after seeing the woman and her bike lying on the roadside.
Police would like to speak with anyone who may have been involved or witnessed anything in relation to the incident.
