Missing Israeli Tourist, Liat Okin

Police have flown into the Routeburn Track area this morning after the discovery of items belonging to missing Israeli tourist, Liat Okin, in dense bush near the track.

A private search team located property belonging to her about 2:30 pm on Thursday and Queenstown Police were advised later that evening when the searchers came out of the bush.

On Friday morning a Police search team flew to the area and began a search with the private search team.

Police were advised that at 1:10 pm today, a body had been located in the vicinity of the property belonging to Liat Okin off the Routeburn Track. Police are currently in the process of recovering the body which will be transported to Dunedin for post mortem and formal identification.

Liat's family have been advised of the discovery of the body.
