1 min read

The body of what is believed to be a woman is in-situ in a city apartment in Newton, Auckland, this evening after Police were called there shortly before 4pm by ambulance services.

A man, believed to be in his early 20s, is receiving medical attention at Auckland Hospital while accompanied by Police.

A homicide investigation has been launched into the woman's death. It's not known if the people at the centre of the investigation were residents of the Winchester St apartment but Police are currently speaking with neighbours to gather more information.

ESR forensic scientists, Police photographers and a pathologist are expected at the scene within the next hour.
