Wairarapa Police have arrested a 40-year-old man and charged him with manslaughter following yesterday’s car crash in Greytown in which the car’s front seat passenger was killed.

The car’s driver was arrested this afternoon at Masterton Hospital where he is being treated for leg and arm injuries. His appearance was excused at a JP sitting of the Masterton District Court this afternoon and with his lawyer’s consent was remanded on bail to the hospital to appear in court on his discharge, possibly tomorrow.
