Aircraft scene under guard

1 min read

The scene of last night’s tragic air crash, just short of the Christchurch Airport, will be under secure scene guard overnight.

Investigation teams from Police, Transport Accident Investigation and CAA will be at the scene tomorrow morning.

The bodies of the eight deceased will remain at the scene overnight. The two injured people are at Christchurch Hospital.
It is believed that they are all local people from one Christchurch organisation.

All next of kin of dead and injured people have been contacted except for one who is believed to be overseas. There will be no name release until formal identification has taken place. A disaster victim identification team will be at the scene.
