Arrest made following two burglaries in Merivale

Canterbury Police made an arrest following an investigation into two burglaries that are understood to have occurred at around lunchtime today in the centre of the Merivale suburb of Christchurch.  A large quantity of boxed jewellery was seized along with a camera and other personal items.  Investigations are ongoing to identify the rightful owners of these items.

A 49 year old Christchurch woman has been arrested and will appear in Christchurch District Court on Wednesday 11 March 2015 charged with Burglary, Possession of Instruments for Burglary and Possession of Instruments for Drugs.

Canterbury Police investigations are ongoing.

Anyone in the Christchurch area who has had any jewellery stolen or noticed it missing since January 2015 is urged to contact Police by calling 03 363 7400 option 1.
