Arrests made Feilding

1 min read

Please attribute to Manawatū Area Commander Inspector Ross Grantham:

Manawatū Police have apprehended five people, aged between 16 and 25, on charges relating to aggravated robbery, burglary and unlawful taking of motor vehicles.

It is the successful result of Police targeting illegal activity in the Feilding area.

“Police have had an increased presence in the town recently. After being made aware of undesirable behaviour in the town, we have been out conducting reassurance patrols and letting criminals know that they’re not welcome in town.

“Everyone has the right to feel safe in their community and we take a no-nonsense approach to offending that threatens that.”

Inspector Grantham encouraged members of the community to get to know their neighbours, especially if they were vulnerable, and report suspicious behaviour to Police.

“A connected community is a safe community.”

Inspector Ross Grantham encourages Neighbours to act as capable guardians.

“Neighbourhoods with capable guardians are often safer. A capable guardian is someone who keeps an eye out, knows their neighbours and who should be coming and going.”

A Neighbourhood Support Network is a great way to create that capable guardian.  You can get more information about Neighbourhood Support Groups here; info@neighbourhoodsupport.co.nz   0800 4NEIGHBOURS (0800 463 444)”

If you see someone acting suspiciously or illegally and it’s happening now, please call 111.

Call 105 if it’s after the fact or report it to Police online via https://www.police.govt.nz/use-105
