Southland Police are investigating the discovery of the bodies of two men and the wreckage of a boat near Breaksea Sound, Southland.
The bodies of both men have now been formally identified and inquiries are continuing with next of kin. The names of both men will not be released at present allowing family time to inform extended family.
As part of their enquiry Police are interested in the movements of the FV Marina in and around Breaksea Sound and if any vessels spoke to them while they were in the area – Contact S/Const Grant NIMMO 0211 915 162.
Further information will be supplied tomorrow.
The matter is being referred to the Coroner and no other details are available at this stage.
