Thousands of dollars in cash, offensive weapons, a loaded gun, a stolen Mercedes and a number of tools have all been seized by Police, following two search warrants in north Auckland today.

Shortly after 7am this morning, officers from Waitemata Police executed search warrants on two properties in Albany and Puhoi, in relation to drugs and stolen property.

At the Fowler Access Road home in Puhoi, officers found the following;

- Large amounts of methamphetamine (picture attached)

- $35 000 cash (picture attached)

- A loaded Smith and Wesson 38 revolver (picture attached)

- Two tasers; one a torch-style and the other a cellphone-style (pictures attached)

- Knuckle dusters (picture attached)

- A $20 000 Mercedes CLK, stolen five days ago in Glenfield (picture attached)

- A Stihl chainsaw, Stihl Leaf Blower and Hilti concrete cutter, all stolen in burglaries across Auckland.

A 41 year-old man and a 33 year-old woman have been charged with the following offences and will both appear in the North Shore District Court tomorrow morning.

-Possession of methamphetamine for supply.

-Dealing methamphetamine.

-Possession of firearms.

-Possession of offensive weapons.

-Receiving stolen property.

Officers searching a Dairy Flat Highway property in Albany as part of the same operation found 33 cannabis plants growing indoors, as well as a quantity of dried cannabis. Two Stihl chainsaws, a Stihl Brush Cutter and a Ramset Nail Gun, all of which had been stolen in burglaries were also found.

A 28 year-old man has been charged with cultivation and possession of cannabis charges and will also appear in court tomorrow.

“We say it again and again – where there is meth, there are guns. The fact that this one was loaded and the other nasty weapons we found here are further reminders that meth is a very dangerous drug that drives serious and violent crime” says Detective Sergeant Callum McNeill, Waitemata Police.

“We can also advise anyone who thinks about buying any of the weapons we found here online or bringing them home from an overseas holiday, that it is a criminal offence to possess these in New Zealand and you could be charged” he says.

The owners of the stolen tools have been identified.

Anyone with information in relation to drug offending is asked to report it to Police. Information can be given anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
