At about 3:35pm, on Tuesday, the 22nd of September 2015, members of the Invercargill Fire Brigade extinguished a fire at the Goju Ryu Karate Club on Layard Street, Invercargill. The fire caused a moderate amount of damage to the north east corner of the building.
On the evening of the 22nd of September 2015, Police arrested a 15 year old youth in connection with the fire. The youth has been charged with Arson and has been referred to the Invercargill Youth Aid Section.
Further enquiries are continuing and Police would like to hear from any person who witnessed or has any information about the fire.
