A homicide investigation is under way in Taranaki after a man’s body was located outside at an Oaonui property today.
Emergency services were alerted at about 8.40am after a person arrived at the rural Kina Road property and found the man.
“While we are treating this death as suspicious, we are in the very early stages of understanding what has happened to our victim,” says Detective Inspector Brent Matuku.
The identity of the man is yet to be confirmed.
A forensic scene examination of the property has begun and a post mortem is expected to be carried out early this week.
