Due to a digger hitting a gas pipe in the Kapiti Road/Arawata Street area of Paraparaumu, Kapiti Road is expected to be closed for at least the next two hours. Some houses have also been evacuated as a precaution.
At this stage there are no identified detours in place. People heading to Kapiti are encouraged to delay travel where possible.
