Emergency services are still attending a fatal crash on SH6 north of Haast.
Police have confirmed a male motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a camper van. There are no other known injuries.
The motorcycle was travelling with one other bike heading south and the campervan with three occupants was heading north on a winding stretch of highway.
Motorists in the area can still expect delays as the highway remains reduced to one lane.
