Petrol Tanker Rollover on State Highway 6

Emergency Services are currently attending the scene of a fuel tanker that has rolled over in Northern Southland.

The incident has occurred at approximately 5.32am on Sunday the 17th of April.

The crash has taken place on State Highway 6 between Lumsden and Five Rivers.

There are diversions in place at the intersection of State Highway 6 and State Highway 94 (just north of Lumsden).  A second diversion is currently in place at the intersection of State Highway 6 and Ellis Road.

The road is likley to remain closed for a large part of the morning while the tanker is removed from the scene.

It is understood that the sole occupant of the tanker has sustained minor injuries and will be assessed by Ambulance.
