1 min read

Police have located a car involved in an armed robbery in Kaikohe last month.

On Monday September 23 a security van was held up while collecting cash from the New World supermarket
A car, which had been stolen earlier, pulled up beside security staff and a male passenger presented a firearm at them and managed to get hold of a large amount of cash before the car drove off.

The car was described as a silver 1996 Nissan Primera, registration APQ901.
This car was located by Police just before 12pm today on Pipiwai Road about 10km north of the Pipiwai settlement.

Police located the car, which had been burnt out, after they received a call from a member of the public.
The car is believed to have been set alight between 10.30pm and 11pm last night when residents of the area heard it being driven through the road.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard the vehicle heading along Pipiwai Road towards Whangärei late last night. They would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen another vehicle driving away at speed around the same time.
