Search for Mary Berrington – UPDATE 4

Police, Land Search and Rescue teams and community volunteers are out in force for a fourth day today in the search for missing Upper Hutt woman Mary Berrington.

Mary was reported missing on Wednesday and since then Police, Land Search and Rescue teams and community volunteers have completed extensive searches in the Upper Hutt area. 

Today a search for items of interest in and around the Hutt River will be completed and LandSAR, Upper Hutt Community Rescue and Police search teams will be focussed on visiting properties in the suburbs surrounding Mary’s home on Fergusson Drive which were inaccessible yesterday. 

Police are again calling on the public to report any sightings of woman matching Mary’s description in the Upper Hutt area. Mary is 62-years-old and is 168cm tall of solid build with short brown and grey hair. Police believe she may be in an anxious state.

As search efforts continue Police are also asking homeowners in Upper Hutt to search their properties checking out-buildings, garages and any areas where a person could seek shelter.
