Serious crash - Ashburton

Emergency services are responding to a serious crash at the intersection of Mitcham Road and Hepburns Road, Ashburton.
 
The crash occurred just after 10am and involved two vehicles.  
 
Initial indications are that at least two people have suffered critical injuries.
 
The roads around the crash site are closed while emergency services work at the scene – motorists are asked to avoid the area and take alternative routes where possible.
