A man has been charged with assault in relation to the death of a man in Porirua this evening.
Police are also speaking with a number of other people in relation to the incident.
Police were called to the Porirua CBD at 5:40pm where a man was found critically injured.
He was given medical attention but died at the scene.
Police would still like to hear from witnesses, or anyone who can help with the investigation.
