Police are following strong lines of enquiry after attending an incident at an address in Glen Eden this morning.
Police were called to the address after 10am and established cordons in the immediate area.
Some schools in the surrounding area were initially placed into lockdown as a precautionary measure, however they were later lifted.
Inspector Stefan Sagar, Relieving Waitematā West Area Commander, says the level of Police response was precautionary and is standard procedure with reports of this nature.
“Police are continuing to look into the exact circumstances of the incident and we are following strong lines of enquiry,” says Inspector Sagar.
“We would like to remind the community that we take these sorts of incidents seriously and will respond accordingly.”
