Update two: Invercargill shooting

Police have located a firearm following an incident in Invercargill this morning.

About 9am, a man walking on Kelvin St received gunshot wounds to his lower leg.

He was transported to Invercargill Hospital where he underwent surgery and is now in a stable condition.

The relationship between the victim and the offender has not yet been established.

Police conducted a scene examination today and located a firearm believed to be involved in the incident.

Police are still actively looking for the offender. 

There is not thought to be any risk to the public at this time. 

Police would still like to hear from anyone who was in the Kelvin Street area at the time of the shooting.
