Police in the Waiheke Island are investigating an alleged serious assault on Palm Road on Tuesday 22 January.

At about 12:30pm, the victim was walking back from the beach along Palm Road, when she was hit from behind to the side of her face by an unknown male. She fell to the ground and was punched again to the face. The victim was then picked up by the male and thrown over a railing, two meters to the ground.

Although injured and dazed, the victim managed to pull herself up to the road and seek assistance from a member of the public.

The unknown male was described as:

  • 20-30 years
  • Slight build
  • 168-175cm / 5'6"-5'8
  • Thin-built arms
  • Wearing a white and mustard-yellow striped singlet

Police would like to speak with the people pictured in the CCTV. While Police are not saying they were involved in the assault in any way, they may have valuable information.
