Police in Ormiston are investigating an alleged serious assault in Flat Bush on Tuesday 9th July.

The victim drove to work at a building site near Cooladawson Drive, parked up and walked to work.

At about 4:50pm, a white car with two females parked behind the victim’s car. Very soon after, a silver car parked directly opposite the white car. Two males exited the silver car, one of them was wearing a white t-shirt. A witness heard an argument between the two groups in the cars.

At about 5pm the victim walked to his car and opened up the boot to put his tools inside. The male in the white t-shirt then approached the victim from behind and assaulted him, knocking the victim unconscious.

The two females left the scene in their white car, the male in the white shirt dragged the victim and put him into the boot of his car. The second male then took the victim out of the boot and laid him on the ground. Both males then left in the silver car.

A witness found the victim on the ground with his face covered in blood, the victim then regained consciousness but was still dazed and was taken to Middlemore hospital to be treated for a fractured jaw. He is still receiving treatment for concussion and headaches.

There was no apparent reason why the victim was assaulted as he had no valuables on him and nothing belonging to him was stolen.
