Police in Palmerston North are investigating the disappearance of Bir Poudyel, a 69-year-old Bhutanese father and grandfather, who was last seen at his home address on John F Kennedy Drive on the morning of the 23rd of October.

Bir was known to walk the Mangaone Stream walkway, however Police have searched this area and were unable to find any signs of him. A bus driver also believes Bir may have taken the bus all the way to Fielding on the same day he disappeared, however he has yet to be located.

Bir was last seen wearing a distinct blue, red and white beanie. It’s out of character for him not to be in contact with his family, so Police are appealing to the public, and in particular, to the Bhutanese community for any information on Bir Poudyel as his family desperately misses him.

If you have any information that could help reunite Bir with his loved ones, please contact Palmerston North Police.
