Case 3: Crime of the Week - Mirrabooka Liquor Store Aggravated Robbery, Auckland
Police in Counties Manukau are investigating an aggravated robbery of a liquor store in Botany.
At about 7:20PM on Sunday 6th September two males, one armed with a concealed machete, entered the Mirrabooka Liquor store on Botany Road where the victim was working behind the counter.
One of the males was wearing sunglasses and a mask, and when the victim grew suspicious, he asked him to remove the face covering. The second male then pulled out the machete and threatened the victim to open the cash register.
The males proceeded to steal alcohol, cigarettes and the cash from the till before they exited the store on foot and turned left onto Mirrabooka Avenue.
Suspect 1 is described as -
- Dark complexion
- Wearing dark clothing
- Carrying a distinctive blue satchel with the words “ALL STAR” written in white
- Armed with a black-handled machete with three holes at the tip of the blade
Suspect 2 is described as -
- Wearing a black puffer vest
- Grey hoodie
- Sunglasses and a black mask
