Police in Wellington are investigating an attempted aggravated robbery of the Corner Store dairy on Vivian Street.

On Monday, 24th of February, around 8:50pm, two males had entered the dairy armed with knives. One of the suspects had moved around the counter and demanded that the victim open the cash register. The victim instinctively grabbed his arm and chased both suspects out of the store. They were last seen heading down Marion Street towards Courtenay Place.

As the suspects were leaving the store, they’ve bumped into a female who was walking past outside. Police would like to speak to this woman as she might have valuable information. 

The first suspect is described as:

  • 5’9
  • Medium to skinny build
  • Black hoody with hood pulled up
  • Sleeveless puffer vest overtop

The second suspect is described as:

  • 5’10
  • Short brown hair
  • Clean shaven
  • Medium to skinny build
  • Red hoody - Champion Brand
  • Holding a blue butchers knife

Police recovered a red hoodie and a blue knife at a construction site at 219 Wakefield Street. If you were around this area at the time of the robbery, or have any information, please get in touch with Wellington Police.
