Police are investigating an assault that took place at the Panmure Train Station on Friday 20th November 2020 at around 7.20pm.

A young schoolgirl was waiting for a bus when a male approached her and asked her for a pen. When she gave him the pen he grabbed her and held her tightly, she tried to pull away but wasn’t able to and he physically assaulted her. When she did manage to break away, she got onto a bus and called her family.

The victim’s mother said her daughter was really upset and her confidence has since taken a dive. After the assault she didn’t want to go outside, or even see her friends.

The victim obtained footage of the suspect on her phone, and there is also CCTV footage from the train station that matches the described male.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • Mid 40’s
  • Approx 180cm / 5’11”
  • Stocky build
  • Hairy forearms
  • Wearing a black cap, work pants and a black top with red patterns

A young schoolgirl should be able to make her way home without being harassed, and Police want to hear from anyone who recognises the male from the footage.
