Police in Auckland are investigating an aggravated robbery at the Herne Bay BP on Jervois Rd on Sunday 6th December 2020.

On the 6th December 2020 a stolen Mazda Demio pulled up in front of the BP and two males have exited the vehicle and run inside.

The males jump over the counter and become aggressive towards the staff. One of the suspects grabbed one of the staff members by the collar and held a screwdriver to his neck, demanding that they open the tills. The staff members complied, and the suspects took the cash before demanding that the cigarette cupboards be opened, and at which point, one of the staff members is pushed to the ground and kicked. The two males then loaded the cigarette trays into the stolen Demio before taking off.

The Mazda Demio in this robbery was stolen from Great North Road, Henderson at about 11:30pm on Saturday 5th December 2020 and was later recovered on the 6th December 2020 at about 6:30pm in Madden Street, Auckland City.

Police enquires established that the Mazda Demio was filled up at BP Fanshaw Street on the 6th December 2020 at about 1:53am, prior to the aggravated robbery at the Herne Bay BP. CCTV captures clear footage of the driver and partial footage of the passenger and whilst Police are not saying they are involved in the aggravated robbery, they need to speak with them.
